Instructions were received to send six of our pilots almost immediately to Middle East and, the move was carried out (to attend a “Maryland” O.T.U. Course).

June 27, 1942
L.G. 98

Despite the erroneous and oft-times misleading news items it would appear that the position on the front is far from satisfactory. Today saw an influx of Boston Aircraft and crews from both 12 and 24 Squadrons who were using L.G. 98 and 99 as Operational Landing Grounds. Both these squadrons have put up a magnificent show in this campaign and it is a thousand pities that twenty one is not with them to assist in sharing the heavy burden they are called upon to bear. All possible assistance was given and the Messes and living quarters were placed at their disposal.
Flare path was provided by the squadron and the Bostons of both 12 and 24 Squadrons carried on the good work throughout the night. Coffee and sandwiches were prepared for the hungry aircrews on their return.‍

Soliman

A signal received that enemy parachutists will be dropped during the night 28/29 June throughout this theatre to sabotage aerodromes. Guards etc. were laid on to protect our aircraft.
F/Sgt. WIGGILL a member of the Intelligence Section promoted to 2/Lt. and posted to 12 Squadron.

Pescara, Italy

Brigadier HINGESTON accompanied by Col. MOSSOP paid 21 Squadron a visit. Squadron Routine Order No. 60/44.
Two raids were carried out to-day and Railroad Bridges near RIMINI, and gun positions near the bomb line were attacked.
