The first of the Squadron's all-day Sunday cricket matches took place to-day, when two old rivals in Signals and Administrative staffs met. With enough barracking to make the most ardent Sydney "Hillite" green with envy, the opposing sides endeavoured to talk one another out – to the amusement of all concerned. The superior barracking of the Admin. section won the day, and towards the close of the match the Signals personnel were sending out frantic dots and dashes, all to no purpose for they were trounced to the tune of five wickets!
No operational, flying today but the Squadron aircraft were flown to EL ASSA in the afternoon. Oprep. No. 219.
We did not get the word at 05.30 but at 11.30. The convoy moves off at 06.00 hrs. tomorrow morning. We will probably have trouble beyond TRIPOLI as we can move at certain times only and we have to get our routing from there. Major HUNT returned this afternoon in the midst of packing up.
