Pescara, Italy

Twelve aircraft participated in a raid on CESENA Marshalling Yards and while over the target were attacked by enemy fighters resulting in one of our aircraft being damaged, necessitating a forced landing on TORTORETO Landing Ground.
The crew were as follows Lt. van NIEKERK (pilot), Lt. le ROUX (observer), W.O.11. HAMILTON (gunner) and W.O.1. STALS (WT/AG).    W.O.11 HAMILTON was wounded but not seriously, and is now in Pescara Hospital. The other members of the crew were uninjured. Very good results ’were observed on the operation.
