Two raids were undertaken to-day. In the first, the aircraft left base at 1019 Hrs. to bomb SULMONA Railway Station; the target was well hit, the pattern falling across the Northern half of the R.R. yards with a direct hit on the Station.

In the second raid the Baltimores took off in the early afternoon to again raid the Railway Station at SULMONA; the pattern started just NORTH of the Railway, with one or two deliberate undershoots, and extended to the Repair Workshops where the main concentration was. Three explosions were seen followed by blackish-grey smoke and a large column of steam N.E. of repair shops.
