Tortorella, Italy

Late in the morning a formation of our aircraft took off to bomb the factory area of LORETA. The target was well hit, the majority of the bombs fell in the factory area, and a few in the N.W. portion of the town. A large volume of black smoke was observed over the whole factory area and a fire was noted near the Tank Repair Shop. Slight to moderate, fairly accurate, Heavy Ack Ack was encountered.
