Hal Far, Malta

We did two shows today. The first formation of twelve Baltimores led by Capt Ord took off at 0855 hrs to bomb RANDAZZO village. Bombs started to fall short of the target and covered the village. Buildings were demolished and hits scored on Railway Track S.E of the village. H.A.A intense but inaccurate.
Weather and visibility good. Capt Smit landed at PACHINO in SICILY due to engine failure after bombing. “Oprep” No. 367 Sortie Report and Crew List
Major Jandrell led the second formation of twelve Baltimores to attack the N.W corner of RANDAZZO Village. Bombs fell SOUTH of village among scattered buildings and across railway line near the station. NO results observed. Moderate H.A.A bursting in pairs, accurate for height only.
