A formation of 12 Baltimores led by Captain ORD took off at 1043 hours to attack junction of roads in PATERNO village. The formation attacked in two boxes of six. No. 1 Box bombed SOUTH or S.W corner of village. Some bombs burst in village. No. 2 box straddled target in good pattern. Buildings were hit and direct hits scored on road. A fire was started in village. The 11 second delay bombs exploded as the formation left target. NO A.A was encountered. "Oprep" No. 360 Sortie Report and Crew List.
Air Commodore Sinclair paid the Squadron a visit.
