Night raid by four Baltimores on road between AGRIGENTO – PALERMO. Visibility was good and the operation was carried out at approximately 6,000 ft, but little movement was seen. No opposition was met although the average time spent over the target was 25 minutes.

Three Baltimores bombed CASTEL VETRANO L.G. The target was well lighted by flares. Considerable amount of A.A. 5 to 10 search lights from MARSALA. Visibility excellent. In addition to bombs and flares crow’s feet were dropped.

Lt. MAHON (Cypher Officer) posted to S.A.A.F. Advanced H.Q. Lt. UNDERWOOD (Cypher Officer) posted to 3 S.A.A.F. Wing. All signals and cyphers will in future be done by the Wing. Lieuts. LAMBERT and WHITE (Observers) Lt. SMYTH (Pilot) and four W.T. Air Gunners arrived on posting. Six other ranks(non signees) posted to S.A.A.F. Advanced Transit Camp for disposal. Two other ranks posted R.T.U. W.O. Mitchell and one other rank posted to No. 1 S.A.A.F. R.S.U., which was formed recently. One other rank posted to Squadron from Wing. The rendering of Forms 765A (Operations and Statistical Summary) dispensed with as of today.
