The “Ops Bell” came to life again to-day and 12 Baltimores led by Major JANDRELL took off to attack gun positions Nos.19 & 19A on PANTELLERIA Island. 500 lbs bombs were used for the first time. The formation attacked the target in 2 boxes of six, the leading box undershot and bombs fell in the sea. No.2 box hit the Southern edge of the target. No results observed. A.A. moderate but inaccurate. The formation was attacked by 6 M.E. 109’s, two aircraft were holed and Sgt.
