Only nine aircraft were eventually required for last night's raids and all got back safely: Oprep No. 177, Sortie Report and Crew list
Owing to the continuation of Rommel's rapid advance – at increased speed, just lately – Jerry is now almost out of range and it is unlikely that we shall be operating from here again.
Wing advises that, Owing to supply difficulties, we will probably be moving back for about a month to the vicinity of SOLUCH where flying training will be carried out. It is anticipated that thereafter the Squadron will be used for low-level attacks on harbours and shipping.
The idea of moving back definitely does not appeal to anyone. Seven more pilots and observers left for SOLUCH to undergo night flying training.
