Ground Crews who went touring the battlefields two days ago, having returned, the remainder of the Ground Crews left on a similar tour this morning, A few of the aircrews are also doing the trip. The only near-casualty in the first batch was Major JANDRELL who made the rather surprising discovery and returned with irrefutable evidence that black powder really is explosive. There seems little likelihood of Light Bombers being required in the present stage of the battle and Wing has advised that we are to commence training in the near future.
The Squadron was visited by Mr. Bob Conolly who made various sketches of members of different branches or musterings. Following efforts of the Fighter Squadrons, our personnel were advised that application might be made for service outside of Africa. Forms having arrived, these have been distributed to the various Flights and Sections for completion by personnel desiring to apply.
