A fire occurred in the Cape Corps lines, a tent catching fire and the two occupants being badly burned. They were both admitted to the Squadron Sick Bay. It appears that, contrary to Orders, they were using petrol for the washing of clothes. The storm-lantern they were using was moved nearer to the petrol tin and an explosion resulted, starting the fire.
