Arriving in the thick of an unpleasant dust-storm, a special dispatch rider brought details of the move of artisan personnel to KASFAREET. We are to advise Air Headquarters Egypt and H.Q. R.A.F. M.E. when the contingents are ready to leave.
Owing to weather conditions it was not possible to start taking down tents which are to be used for the accommodation of the personnel at KASFAREET and SHANDUR. Twenty five selected artisans will comprise the maintenance section for SHANDUR (they are to assist in the maintenance of 223 squadron aircraft) and 70 men are to proceed to 107 M.U. where they will be engaged in the maintenance and building of Baltimore aircraft.
As we will doubtless have a long wait for our own machines, this will be time well spent by the ground personnel who will gain valuable experience in the assembly and maintenance work of these aircraft.
