Most of the squadron's "holiday-makers" have returned to the fold. A large number were unable to get back from Palestine owing to transport difficulties, but thanks to fine co-operation and help by the R.A.F. stations in Palestine, where our lads were cared for and placed on transport coming through to Egypt as this became available (Transport by train had been stopped) they were not more than a few days late in their re-turn from leave.
Advice has been received that the old "Abyssinian campaigners” of the flying crews in our midst are to return to the Union for a well-deserved rest and they were busy packing to-day prior to leaving on the morrow for CAIRO. Lieuts Gillies, Cormack, Murray and Sgt. Cockin – all have rendered yeoman service, and sorry though we all are to lose them, their opportunity for a complete break from operations is fully merited.
