L.G. 076

Bbrrrr but it is cold this morning – real Arctic weather and conditions were most foul. The day was spent in tents or other shelters from the cold blast. In the afternoon we went on an expedition with Zack and Capt. Haupt, who is posted to 3 Wing and sent here under our wing to learn the arduous and exciting duties of a squadron Adj. We went to Picadilly Circus and viewed all the dummy ack-ack posts with their dummy crews all at action posts. There is also a dummy railhead with a dummy train not to speak of innumerable dummy machine gun posts!!
There was a terrible accident on L.G. 75 at about midday when two Blenheims taking off in opposite directions collided and one with its complete crew was blown sky high and the pilot of the other was also killed. The flying discipline must be pretty lax, moreover there is an aerodrome control officer at 75!!
No show today, but with the full moon Jerry came over in force again tonight and dropped some pretty heavy stuff in the neighbourhood but well away from our vicinity.
