Todays show was to be the last of the BENGHASI “Blitzes” for the nonce. The show was not too hot and everyone was feeling relieved that the long shows were now at a _stillstand_ as far as O.L.G. 21 is concerned, at any rate. The long overdue promotion list came to light today. It was not too bad and one should be thankful for small mercies but several outstanding cases were not approved because of Establishment. It seems cold comfort to men who have given of their best for more than eighteen months, to be informed that they will be "recommended" for promotion to the Union when they return thither. Surely a case of "throwing to the wolves”.

F/Sgt PEARCE J. who was posted out on being wounded on 21.10.42, returned to the Squadron on posting from S.A.A.F, Depot. One other rank (cook & butcher) posted to S.A.A.F. Depot.

November 13, 1943
Tortorella, Italy

Another raid on STAZ DI PALENA, to-day by twelve of our aircraft. The target was well hit causing two explosions, one started a fire, while three direct hits on tracks and bursts among buildings were observed.

In the afternoon STAZ DI PALENA was again visited. Most of the bombs fell SOUTH of the station with a slight overshoot, but direct hits were registered on Railroad near Road and Railroad Junction. The aircraft arrived back at Base at 16.40 hours.

Lt. A. Rose and Lt. N. Clutterbuck were cleared and posted to Advance Transit Camp on their way to the Union.
