Lt.Col. Pretorius, the Officer Commanding, today attended another meeting of the Tactical Committee, at which he submitted a memorandum in regard to training of aircrews.
Late this evening Major O’Brien arrived with 64 S.A.A.F. personnel 32 of whom were for this squadron, the remainder being for 12 Squadron. The personnel were rapidly accommodated and fed for the night.

All Cape Corps personnel in Wing, Squadrons and B.C.M.C.were paraded at 24 Squadron and addressed by a representative of the D.D.N.E.A.S. in connection with their applying to serve outside of Africa. With a few exceptions consisting of medical cases and details who are having trouble with their families in the Union, it is anticipated that the vast majority of the Cape Corps attached to the Squadron will complete the necessary forms. One European Staff Sergeant (attached to Cape Corps) posted in from S.A.A.F. Depot.
Early next morning the convoy struck the main East Coast Road at TARANTO. The M.T. Officer was instructed to remain behind and collect a further supply of petrol, which by this time was again running short. A night halt was made just outside BARLETTA.
