The lull continued today. Major General F. H. Theron G.O.C., 2 S.A. Div. today visited the camp accompanied by Staff Officers. This was not in the nature of a call on official business but rather an informal, friendly visit and his inscription of "Geluk" in our Visitor's book was appreciated.
Further night flying was successfully carried out to-night at L.G. "Z"
The Squadron concert party entertained about 1200 officers and men at KASFAREET station in the open air, tonight, and in the words of an American engineer who came back-stage after the show "sure rocked 'em back on their heels".
Twelve Baltimores took off at 10.55 Hrs. in order to follow a Boston Squadron, to attack troops and guns, when however, reaching a point approximately fifteen miles NORTH of STROMBOLI, the leader turned back and jettisoned his bombs, as he had been recalled.
Twelve Marauders airborne at 11.25 hours to bomb area M.707055–M.715055 – 717058 – 707058. A stick from the first box fell from M.711057, to M.708057, one direct hit on buildings. Stick from second box fell from M.713057 to M.710057 causing an explosion with orange smoke at M.712057. Stick from third box inside Southern edge of target. Slight, heavy A.A. inaccurate, during bombing run. All aircraft landed at Base by 13.40 hrs.
