Convoy

Well before scheduled time the Squadron moved off in convoy for KASFAREET and before noon were ready to take up their quarters at L.G.212 which had been prepared for them by the Advance Party.

Hal Far, Malta

A formation of 12 Baltimores led by Major JANDRELL attacked gun positions SOUTH of ADRANO Village and S.W. of BIANCAVILLA. The target was covered in excellent pattern by No. 1 box and bombs fell among dug-in positions. No. 2 box scored hits on rail track. NO A.A encountered. Rear Party
Everything was brought in readiness for the move on the following day. The Squadron was divided into two convoys (A & B) and drivers and personnel were allocated to the various trucks and light vehicles. A letter received from 3 Wing contained a signal from H.Q. T.B.F., instructed that owing to hold up in shipping, the movement was delayed for 48 hours. It was also instructed that the whole wing had to move and not only 21 Squadron. Pescara, Italy

A soccer match was played this afternoon at CHIETI against the Ities. It roused a great deal of interest amongst the local inhabitants who thronged to the ground. The game was gruelling from the start and although 21 Squadron had the better of the game they lost 1-0.
