New crews settling down and allocated to flights where they are busy getting acquainted with the whys and wherefores of the new aircraft. The heat seems to be on the increase and added to the dust storms that rise in the late afternoon life tends to become somewhat sticky round these parts.‍

3 Baltimores led by Major CORMACK took off for EL AOURIAL & loaded pamphlets. Rendezvous with fighter escort at RAS EL FORTAS and set course for PANTELLERIA Island. The formation dived to 7000 ft. dropped pamphlet over port and Island. No A.A. or fighters.

Twelve Baltimores led by Maj. JANDRELL attacked gun position No. 20 on North side of PANTELLERIA Island. Attacked from West to East. Majority of bombs fell in sea alongside target area. A.A. slight and inaccurate. Lt. EATON’s one engine cut on leaving the target but managed to start it again on reaching CAP BON.
