The training of the MALTA crews is still progressing but is handicapped by the fact that no responsible senior officer was sent here in charge of the party. In a cricket match this afternoon we added to our laurels by "eating up" 69 Squadron by a very wide margin. In a strongly contested soccer match the Sergeants Mess defeated the Airmen's Mess by 1 – 0 A close shave and the airmen have vowed a dire vengeance at their next meeting.
The weekly bridge drive, quite a feature of the squadron life was held in the air mechanics Mess this evening with a record turn out.
The Squadron visited by the S.A.O.A. Tactical Bomber Force HQ. Practically the whole Squadron proceeded to GROMBALIA L.G. To attend an informal parade in honour of the visit of the Prime Minister of England. A very short address was delivered by him.
