The R.A.F. MALTA crews arrived from their various units today. The majority of the men are N.C.O’s with only two junior officers in charge of them. Our accommodation problem is becoming acute but we managed to squeeze them into the last few tents we possess.
Major O’Brien is to act as Judge Advocate and Lt. Newman as prosecutor in a G.C.M. to be held at S.A.A.F. Base tomorrow.‍

Major BARNBY and party left for TUNIS. He is also visiting the scene of Capt. BUDD’s crash (reported missing on the 6th inst.) and to interview the french farmer with a view to obtain further information.

Biferno, Italy

The target for to-day was an Ammo. Dump and some explosions followed by black smoke were observed. Sortie Report No. 699.
Capt. HALL returned to the Squadron and gave a most interesting account of how he had escaped from the Germans by hitting the "Jerry" guard over the head with a bottle, laid low for several days, and eventually reached Allied territory.
Comm. DIEU & Lieut. HILL, pilots, Lieut. PIETERS, observer, 2/Lt. THEUNISSEN, 2/Lt. H.P. v.d. WESTHUIZEN, WT/AGs., W.O.11s. BOWEN & MARAIS were posted R.T.U. as operational tour expired.
A few welcome replacements arrived for some of the ground staff.
