Major Coppen proceeded by air to KASFAREET today to make enquiries regarding the delivery of aircraft to this unit and was informed, there that we could not expect any operational aircraft until 55 Squadron had received their full complement — a signal authorising the transfer of six Baltimore aircraft to our strength having subsequently been cancelled.
One of our aircraft “on loan” – No. 757 – which was undergoing engine change at KASFAREET would also not be available for some time as other maintenance work had to be given priority.
No operational flying “Oprep” No. 298
Opportunity were given to the Air – and ground crews to visit ENFIDAVILLE. Night flying training continued with Cinema Show.
The Squadron carried out two raids to-day and gun positions and a troop area were attacked. The ack-ack was very intense and six aircraft were holed on the first raid.
