More of the "old hands" left us to-day when a large number of the observer officers who had joined the squadron in the "early days" – the squadron seems to have been through a life – time of experience already – left for CAIRO to proceed to the Union. There are only a few of the "old gang" left now among the flying personnel and it was with somewhat wistful looks that they shouted “cheerio and good luck” to their departing comrades.
Meeting held to-day of the squadron Entertainment Committee representing all three messes, in order to provide antidotes to "blues" which might threaten to settle upon us in our present circumstances. Arrangements forgetting sport on the go are also well in hand now.
We were visited in the afternoon by U.D.F. Information Officers, who are giving lectures to troops on current topics and matters of general interest. Arrangements were made for a series of lectures to be delivered, the first commencing on Tuesday.

No operational flying today. Oprep. No. 217.
The CO's gas parade showed that we are sadly lacking in gas equipment. Immediate steps are being taken to rectify ratters.
Filthy dust storm again today. Major HUNT left for TRIPOLI with Col. TINDALL to sit on another Court Martial.
We have been placed on immediate standby for the move of our Aircraft to EL ASSA.
