Electric light has now been installed in all messes and efforts are being directed towards making this camp, in the face of some of the worst dust-storms we have yet experienced as comfortable as possible. Sport, under the direction of the O.C. who has appointed representatives for every branch, is being organised on a proper basis and every effort is being made to prevent an atmosphere of intense boredom settling down on the inmates of this camp.
During the morning the sun was shining brightly, but the sky became overcast later and operations were cancelled.
Squadron Routine Order No. 15/44
Eleven Marauders, led by Capt. Musgrove, attacked the ARSIE R.D. Bridge at B.283124, with the ADICE River lock gates as an alternative. After rendezvous with six Spits. at PORTO CORSINI formation set course for target. From South of the PO to the Alps, 9 to 10/10 cloud encountered. There was thick ground haze all the way to near target and formation was unable to identify target and returned to base with bomb-load. One aircraft shortly before reaching target area developed engine trouble, broke away and after feathering propeller of starboard engine, flew towards base, closely escorted by two of the fighters. This aircraft landed at CESENATICA Landing ground, after jettisoning whole bomb-load. All the other aircraft landed at base with bombs. There was no enemy opposition.
