On Wing instructions one aircraft conducted a search for a party of three U.D.F.I. details who went out on a gazelle shoot early yesterday morning. It is understood that the lost hunters are new to the desert and have neither compass nor map.
The search was unsuccessful.
The weather was very bad with rain and a cold wind and no operations could be carried out during the day.
Major General Theron, Brigadier Hingeston, and other Senior Officers paid an official visit to the Officer’s Mess during the afternoon.
